This according to Sanne Mirk, the home’s founder, following the success of the institution’s sixth annual Comedy for Kids at Montecasino.
Nadim Ally, chairperson of Yenzani, agreed with Mirk and said, “Residents, schools and businesses in Midrand have been so generous with their time and financial support to our home, without them we would not be able to sustain the care we provide.”
The fundraiser at Montecasino was equally supported. “Much-needed funding was raised due to the generosity of the comedians who performed for free,” said Mirk. The line-up included John Vlismas, Jason and Donovan Goliath, Loyiso Madinga and Don Packett.
Tsogo Sun donated two weekends away to any of their hotels in South Africa for an auction and a raffle.
Ally said, “We need all the help we can get from our community, [we advise people to] please contact us and see how they can make a difference in our children’s lives.”
