Celebrating grandparents

SUMMERHILL - Summerhill Nursery School hosted a Grandparents’ Picnic and Spring Bonnet Parade when pupils invited their grandparents to enjoy the day with them.

“This was a well-attended event and the weather was perfect,” said Eda Gonsalves, Summerhill Nursery School principal.

The grandparents were asked to bring a picnic basket, a blanket and a storybook.

“Our three Grade 0 classes entertained the audience with their poems for the Eisteddfod and all the nursery school children sang a lovely song for their grannies and grandpas,” said Gonsalves.

She said it was amusing to see how the grandparents got off their chairs and used their cellphones to proudly take photographs of their grandchildren.

“Who said it is impossible to teach old dogs new tricks,” joked Gonsalves.
