Women join the #WonderWomen movement

JOBURG – Businesswoman and founder of Wonderbag, Sarah Collins, is starting a #WonderWomen movement for women who want to affect positive change for entrepreneurs.

The Wonderbag is a simple, but revolutionary, portable slow cooker. Once a pot has come to the boil, it is placed in the bag which continues to slow cook the food for up to 12 hours.

Following her Wonderwomen Networking Session at Inanda Club, Collins has asked women to join her in creating a ripple effect by sharing the stories of African women and investing in their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs.

“It is important to look at Africa through a different lens and to share the incredible stories of the women of Africa,” said Collins.

She said a video was shot last year at the beginning of winter in the Umkhanyakude region in the northern-most area of KwaZulu-Natal and it documents a day in the life of African women and how other women can help those women by investing in a Wonderbag.

Collins also has a petition to support the United Nations Sustainable Goal 8 for Entrepreneurs.

The petition can be signed on the Entrepreneurs Unite website page. “You just type in your e-mail address and country and click on ‘sign the petition’ which will take you to one last page to fill in your name and surname and an optional message to accompany this,” she explained. “It’s that easy.”

The Wonderbag business has also opened up employment for a number of women in Africa, who, like Collins, have ambitions of becoming entrepreneurs. “If you don’t have anyone in mind, but would like to support a WonderPreneur we have a host of incredible women who are dying to become part of our WonderWorld, but just need a little support with their first down payment on four Wonderbags,” added Collins.
