Last chance to speak up, residents’ survey extended

KYALAMI – Greater Kyalami area property owners, residents and regular visitors have been urged to voice their concerns with regards to the overall development of the area by completing a survey.

According to Ward 94 councillor John Mendelsohn, this may be the last window of opportunity for residents to have a say in the development of the area.

The survey follows discussions about the Greater Kyalami Integrated Plan which is currently being drafted for input to the Regional Spatial Development Framework (RSDF) for the City of Johannesburg.

Rosemary Sandison, member of the Kyalami planning team and A Beaulieu resident, explained that the purpose of the integrated plan is to promote desirable development for the area.

Sandison said, “Our area is being developed at a rapid rate with very little input from those affected.” She added that the survey was created in an attempt to get community input, which was vital. “To undertake any planning of the area, it is critical that feedback from as many members of the community as possible form the basis of the plan.”

Residents will have until 30 August to fill out the survey.

All respondents will be sent the overall survey results, and the results only relating to the area in which they responded to will be sent at a later date. The survey can be accessed via Google Forms.
