North Sands remembers Mandela
CHARTWELL – North Sands Learning Academy teamed up with Country Play Den Nursery School to collect goods for the disadvantaged families of the school, which are supported by Grace Community Church, in honour of Mandela Day.
Pupils of the academy collected almost 100 warm blankets for the initiative, while children and parents collected ample instant soups.
“We did this in memory of the great man that was Nelson Mandela,” said principal Maxine Stewart.
“The spirit in which he lived was to give to others, and that’s why we committed to this project in collaboration with Country Den.”
