Netcare visits Reddam Early Learning School

MIDRAND - Netcare 911 and the Midrand Fire Department were recently hosted by Reddam Early Learning School in Waterfall for an Emergency Services show-and-tell learning session.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said, “Staff members from Netcare Waterfall Hospital and Netcare Olivedale Hospital were also present to discuss emergency situations and the importance of wearing safety belts in vehicles with all the pupils.”

The pupils were able to see vehicles from Netcare 911 and the Fire Department up close and were taught about equipment used and the emergency services in general. Pupils also enjoyed being placed on an ambulance stretcher, seeing rescue tools and medical equipment and also being treated to the fire engine’s water demonstration. They also all participated in a colouring competition and the winners were announced during the event.

The school’s head of Early Learning School Bev Evangelides said, “A huge thank you to Netcare for investing time and effort in creating a fun, yet highly informative, day for our children. The young ones really enjoyed learning about the trucks and helicopter emergency services.”
