First Spelling Bee at Midrand Primary and High School a huge success

CARLSWALD - Midrand Primary and High School recently hosted its first Spelling Bee in what will be an annual tradition at the school.

 

Director of the school, Vijay Adulla said, “The competition was conducted over two weeks, with round one being a spelling test in which the entire senior school participated. Top pupils were selected to participate in the final verbal round, during which the pupils were put into categories to compete against each other.”

The finalists were Khayalami Khumalo, Reabetswe Molefe, Phumzile Sakonta, Liam Nuns, Zwelakhe Khoza, Denecia Gengan, Tracy Malinga, Boitumelo Leboea and Divine Maredi.

Overall winners from each category who received R500 each included: Reabetswe Molefe, a Grade 4 pupil; Grade 6 pupil, Liam Nuns; Zwelakhe Khoza, a Grade 7 pupil; and Divine Maredi, a Grade 10 pupil.
