JOBURG - Africa Day falls on 25 May and the Caxton Joburg North team wishes all our readers a joyous weekend filled with events focused on celebrating Africa.

 

Africa Day Celebrations is the two-day festival in the heart of Joburg that will feature a number of performances by artists from across Africa.

Jazz, art and poetry are the main focus of the night with this intimate and grungy bohemian haven working hard to bring great art and local jazz back to a once-culturally rich area.

Post African Futures is the latest offering available at the Goodman Gallery and this group exhibition aims to showcase the ever-growing variety of digital art in Africa. The exhibition, which runs for one month, questions the term Afro-Futurism.

Africa Shafted is a film that will be screened at the Alliance Française in Parkview. The film is Ingrid Martens’ incredible documentary film about life in Joburg’s infamous Ponte building.
