Almost time for the South African Book Fair

JOBURG – Book lovers have hundreds of thousands of friends … for each character they read about is counted as one.

And come June, bookworms will be able to add a few more friends to that list, thanks to the South African Book Fair 2015, to be held in Newtown.

For the first time ever, the fair will be held in Johannesburg and this year’s theme is Discover Your Bookshelf. It is a fantastic platform for connecting, engaging and discussing books, as well as learning about seasoned authors and finding new ones.

Organised by the Publishers’ Association of South Africa, the fair has been going for nine years, bringing together a number of publishers, novelists, writers, e-publishers, self-publishers and more importantly, book lovers from every walk of life.

The three-day event has an exciting line-up, including book launches and signings, author interviews and discussions, poetry readings, literary workshops and forums, exhibitions, displays and even a funky children’s zone – because everyone is welcome.

Guests will have the chance to stock up on some great reads and even sneak away to a cosy nook or cranny to dive right in.

The South African Book Fair 2015 will be held at the historic Turbine Hall in Newtown from 31 July to 2 August.
