Kaalfuntein talent comes to town

MIDRAND - Midrand townships recently celebrated the launch of a youth talent showcase organisation named Kaalfuntein.

The word is a play on Kaalfontein township and fun.

The organisation’s founder, Pusetso Motaung said, “The aim of this project is to showcase the talent which can be found in the youth in and around Tembisa and Midrand.

“We also aim to expose small companies in our area to the community.”

Motaung said the launch went swimmingly as there was a great deal of support from the youth and the rest of the community.

“There were a number of categories community members participated in,” said Motaung.

“Drama, poetry, sports and motivational talks, [just to mention a few].”

Motaung said they will be hosting one major event each quarter. The first event, which was the launch of the project has been hosted. The second will be hosted on 16 June, Youth day, at Nompilo Centre in Kaalfontein.

“As the Kaalfuntein team, we are saying why wait for someone to come change our community [when] we can be the change we wish to see in our community,” said Motaung.
