Business on Alsatian Road held up by armed robbers

GLEN AUSTIN - Three employees of a business on Alsatian Road said they were held up by six men, three of whom were armed.

One of the employees gave a statement to the Midrand police and said she and her colleagues were at their desks when six men entered their offices posing as customers. As they were helping them, one of the men suddenly took out a gun and pointed it at them. Two other men followed suit.

The men demanded money from them.

The woman said that the men were young and neatly dressed.

The robbers made off with laptops, cellphones, R600 in cash and jewellery, all to the value of R75 100.

Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications at Midrand Police Station, said they are investigating the case.

“We have not made any arrests yet,” she said.
