Galix helps out Kitty and Puppy Haven

MIDRAND - IT company Galix Networking donated a laptop, Microsoft Office software as well as Photoshop software to the value of R10 000 to Kitty and Puppy Haven.

On 26 February, the company’s staff members handed over the equipment to the home which will assist the staff at the President Park Animal Sanctuary with their daily duties and the processing of the images of the animals.

The haven aims to rescue, rehabilitate and provide a sanctuary to injured, neglected and abandoned animals from low-income areas. They provide these animals with veterinary treatment, primary healthcare and sterilisation and, ultimately, securing permanent homes for these animals.

“The staff at Kitty and Puppy Haven work hard,” said Megan Tassev, marketing manager at the IT company. “[They also] educate people on what owning a pet entails.”

Tassev said the homes modus operandi resonated with them which led to their generous donation,

By processing the images of the animals, the home will be able to provide the community with information, helping to find homes for more of their animals.

“[As a home] it is vital for us to have access to information such as medical and adoption records,” said Samantha Berger from the haven.

“The donation of the laptop from Galix will allow us to keep all these records up-to-date in an electronic format. We are so grateful that Galix contributed to our cause as we require all the help we can get,” she said.

Galix has vowed to donate another laptop this year and will also assist the haven throughout the year with other requirements or needs they have.
