Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said the incident took place on 12 March.
The complainant told police that an unknown suspect came out of a vehicle carrying a riffle. He said, “The suspect ran into the shop, ordered staff and customers not to panic and to lie down next to the bakery shelf.
The suspect bombed the safe and left while the shop was covered with smoke.”
No one was reported injured and no arrests have been made. Police are looking for anyone with information that may lead to the armed robber’s arrest.
