AnimalTalk aims big for Kitty and Puppy Haven

MIDRAND - Animaltalk has called on all animal lovers to assist abused and homeless puppies and kittens at Kitty and Puppy Haven.

The home was allegedly recently robbed of food and other supplies. Following the incident, the organisation has aimed to raise well over R10 000 in aid of the home.

Samantha Berger, owner and founder of Kitty and Puppy Haven said, “I simply have no words to express the inconvenience caused by the burglary on 14 March.”

“Losing our equipment, including all computers, leaves us in dire straits. We urgently need assistance to keep afloat,” said Berger.

The home is a shelter for hundreds of neglected, abused and abandoned animals from low-income areas.

The shelter offers complete veterinary care, vaccinations, and sterilisation of all the animals in the sanctuary, which have been brought in from squatter camps, townships, road sides and mine dumps.

They also find homes for these once injured, traumatised or abused animals, once they are in a fit condition.

The haven takes in about 100 animals a month, rehabilitates and re-homes them as far as possible. Animals that are too sick or old to be re-homed are kept at the shelter. The only animals that are put down are those that are incurably ill.

The home has a number of projects and is in need of supplies. They can be contacted via telephone or on their physical address which is 37 Modderfontein Road in President Park.

Animaltalk is based in 92 Campolino Road in Kyalami. They too can be reached to make donations.
