Airline provides travel safety guidelines

JOBURG - With Easter just around the corner, Cathay Pacific has compiled a list of guidelines for travelling on those long trips with your young ones.

It is most important to remember that from June it will be a requirement before boarding flights that parents or guardians of a child are able to produce a birth certificate for each child, in addition to their own passports.

Check online for the luggage requirements and specifications for your flight.

Cathay Pacific encourages parents to let their kids pack their own bags for their flights, because little people love to feel all grown up.

Try to check in online 48 hours prior to the departure time of your flight to avoid any hassles on the day that you intend to fly.

Make sure to pack enough food and snacks to sustain your kiddies between the meals provided to you on your flight.

Pack and label all the essential medication required for your children, especially allergy treatments.

You can book a bassinet for babies under the age of six months in order to make sure that they are able to be strapped in safely during the flight.

Make sure your child can always be found by teaching them your cellphone numbers, or even writing the number on their arm.

Check with your airline whether they do allow you to bring your front facing car seats onto the flight to make the journey more comfortable for your little ones.

Cathay Pacific offers a kids channel as part of their in-flight entertainment.

Easter is a time to spend with family, so make sure that they are all safe and comfortable when travelling this festive season.
