Police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said, “The community alerted police to suspicious behaviour of two men who were seen carrying chairs, allegedly stolen from a church to an unknown location. Police approached the suspects and one immediately fled, leaving behind stolen chairs.”
Police gave chase and managed to arrest a 20-year-old suspect. Constable Nhlongo said police suspect that the chairs were stolen from one of the churches in Mayibuye. The suspect will appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on a charge of possession of stolen property.
