Woman is followed into her home by armed robbers

MIDRAND - A woman said her home was ransacked by two robbers in a Mercedes who followed her in as she drove into her driveway.

She told Midrand police that one of the men had a firearm and they forced her into the house. Two of her female relatives were inside the house and they were all told to lie down on the floor. While one of the men searched the house for valuables, the other stayed downstairs with the women. They were then joined by a third man who searched downstairs.

Their accomplice came back downstairs and said that trying to find valuables in the house was taking too long – they took a TV and a laptop, and made their escape in a blue Mercedes Benz.

Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications at Midrand Police Station said the matter was being investigated and they were hoping to make arrests soon.
