Business robbery caught on CCTV

MIDRAND - Police are in possession of CCTV footage of a business robbery when eight employees were held at gunpoint on 16th Road in Randjiesfontein.

The employees who work for and IT solutions vendor, said two men entered their work premises. One was carrying a printer and said it was not working.

One of the employees called the printer engineer to come to reception to attend to the men.

Upon the engineer’s arrival, the suspects took out firearms and pointed them at the employees and ordered them to lie down. The employees were told to keep quiet and not press the panic button.

More men arrived on the premises and took their jewellery and cellphones. They also took about 800 laptops. The value of the stolen items is unknown.

“The police are making an appeal to the community who can assist with information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects,” said Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications for Midrand Police Station.
