Tembisa Grade R pupil dies in mysterious circumstances

TEMBISA - A pupil died on a playground at a school on 29 January.

Gauteng Department of Education reportedly released a statement on the matter saying the preliminary report they had received revealed that the pupil sustained injuries while playing with other pupils on the playground.

It is reported that paramedics were called to Welomlambo Primary School but the Grade R pupil was declared dead at the scene.

The department has apparently made arrangements for the pupils, educators and the family of the deceased to receive counselling.

The departments’ MEC Panyaza Lesufi has sent his condolences to the child’s family.

“We wish the family of the learner peace and comfort during this difficult time and hope that they find solace in the knowledge that we too share their loss,” he reportedly said.

It is yet unclear how the pupil died.
