Thief caught red-handed with stolen goods

GLENFERNESS - A woman apprehended a man in Glenferness after he stole her handbag.

The woman called the Midrand police to the scene of the crime, which was her home, on 12 January at about 6pm.

When the police arrived at the home, they found the 43-year-old man sitting next to the items he had allegedly stolen.

The complainant described the suspect as her sub-contractor who had, during the course of his work, decided to steal some items from her. The items included 120 euros, four caps, a brown wallet and bank cards.

Although it is unclear as to how the suspect came into possession of the items and how the woman apprehended him, the suspect was arrested immediately.
