Tembisa’s own is a Mr South Africa finalist

TEMBISA - Sibusiso Sibanda is a young man who comes from humble beginnings.

The motivational speaker, sales manager, cancer ambassador and, most recently ambassador for Education for the New Jerusalem Children’s Home in President Park, admits that it wasn’t always smooth sailing growing up.

“Tembisa has been a home to me for years. Despite all the hardships people face here, they still dream, still have hope, still believe – which in today’s world what one needs in a community is love, care and peace,” he said.

He is quick to remind anyone of his passion for South Africa, to which he attributes his success. “All that we achieve is meaningless unless we use it to make a difference,” he said.

He entered Mr South Africa as a lifetime goal in order to make a difference. “I’ve always wanted to inspire South Africans and show them that you have your destiny in your own hands,” he said.

“This journey for me has been about saying to orphans all over the country there’s greatness within you, telling those who want to give up that no one ever made it by quitting, telling street kids that they have a God-given purpose.”

As someone who aspires to win the competition because he wishes to inspire the youth, Sibanda is well on his way. He visited New Jerusalem Children’s Home in bid to inspire the young residents.

“We can only beat our socio-economic [challenge] with education, so I will encourage the youth to stay in school and give themselves a chance to become better people in life,” said Sibanda.

He is one of 12 contestants vying for the Mr South Africa title. His supporters can sms 086 to 47439 to vote for him.
