JRA closes Shamroc Avenue

MIDRAND - The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has responded to the potholes on Shamroc Avenue by closing the road.

The road has been deemed to be unsafe for residents to travel on it.

“The JRA team visited the road during the week and based on the condition of the road, has decided to close the road until it is fixed.” said Bertha Peters-Scheepers, spokesperson for the agency.

Peters-Scheepers said that after their inspection of the road, they found that in its current condition, it poses danger to the community. “Residents will have options to access their properties and Ward 112 councillor Candice James has also been consulted regarding the road closure.”

James, under whom Vorna Valley falls, could not be reached for comment.

“The JRA is committed to ensuring the road is accessible, safe and liveable for the community.”

“We therefore thank the community for their patience whilst we undertake the much-needed repairs to the road,” said Peters-Scheepers.
