CONFIRMED: Woman strangled to death during robbery

VORNA VALLEY - A woman was strangled to death in her unit at a complex on Jamie Uys Road in Vorna Valley on the afternoon of 10 December.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela confirmed that the woman, who was 27-years-old, was strangled. The circumstances around why she was strangled are still unclear.

He said three men knocked on the woman’s door and she opened it. They told the domestic worker to go back to work. They stole two laptops and one set of earphones. 

Maphakela said the domestic worker was receiving trauma counseling and would be taken to the police station for questioning.

Police and the forensic unit were on the scene at the complex after the incident at about 3pm on 10 December.
