The schools deputy principal Linda Naidoo said the pupils have made the school proud. “We want to congratulate Yatin Fakir in Grade 5, Nayan Makanjee in Grade 3, Dheshan Govindasamy in Grade 3 and Shavir Vallabh in Grade 4 for this great achievement and we are very proud of them.”
She added that Fakir and Makanjee received gold certificates in their respective categories and Govindasamy and Vallabh were runners up and won teddy bears and books.
Naidoo stated that schools and parents must encourage children to read and write as often as possible. “It is a great skill to have. Thanks also to all the Sagewood pupils who participated in the writing competition. Sagewood took fourth place overall in the Gauteng schools.”
