Withdrawal of Metrobuses on R19 route to make way for Rea Vaya

JOBURG - All buses operating on Metrobus R19 route will be withdrawn from service from 17 November.

The withdrawal of the buses was due to the implementation of Rea Vaya Route F11, Yeoville/Library Gardens.

The buses operating on this route travel to and from the CBD and the Yeoville/Berea area.

Metrobus passengers, who had trips on their tags were advised to consider using an alternative route as these trips could not be utilised on Rea Vaya buses.

Both R421 and R22 buses travel in the Yeoville (R19) area.

Passengers could cross over to Louis Botha Avenue from the outer terminus in Cavendish Road in order to connect with R13 A, B and C and R15B buses.

Using R421 buses, passengers could also connect with R13A, B and C and R15B, to travel to Gandhi Square.

On 17 November, Metrobus officials would be available at Gandhi Square and on R19 to advise commuters on alternatives.

Commuters could contact the city council’s call centre on 011 375 5555.
