“As the festive season nears, police will not hesitate to arrest anyone who drives under the influence of alcohol. A drunk person’s behavior puts other road users at risk of getting killed.”
Nhlongo explained that the 30 motorists who were arrested have been released on bail. “They will appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on 16 April next year, due to pending blood test results.”
Nhlongo added that as the festive season approaches, a lot of people will try to drive while drunk. “Do not get into your friends car while he is drunk, be responsible and stop them before they cause an accident and take innocent lives.”
