JPC assists with property-related issues

JOBURG - The public can now address their property-related queries directly with the City of Johannesburg’s property division.

The Johannesburg Property Company is holding weekly open days, providing the public with a platform to deal with all property-related issues in person.

During the four hours of public consultation each week, city council regional managers or representatives of the property company will attend to queries including the lease and sale of commercial and residential properties, parking, servitudes and encroachments.

Enquiries could also be made regarding community facilities such as churches, creches and sports facilities, outdoor advertising and user agreements.

The open days were also used as a platform to discuss new proposals and provide residents with feedback on their inquiries, as well as information on inquiries that had already been submitted.

However, the property company said it would only be able to deal with queries that did not fall within the department’s mandate.

If the company could not assist with a query, it would direct the inquirer to the relevant department.

The open days are to be held at the property company’s Braampark offices in Braamfontein every Wednesday from 9am to 1pm.
