Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said police have not yet received reports of such an incident in Midrand. He said the suspects in the O.R. Tambo Airport heist ambushed and robbed the van in the early hours of 23 October. “The suspects used a Mercedes Benz vehicle to ram into the van and stole an undisclosed amount of money. Three security guards at the scene were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.”
Mofokeng said the suspects used four vehicles for the robbery, a Mercedes Benz, BMW, Golf 6 and a black Ford.
“We are appealing to residents in areas close to Kempton Park to help us with any information related to this case as the suspects could be anywhere,” he said.
