Robbery at Allendale Business park

MIDRAND - Two suspects were arrested by the Midrand police in connection to an attempted business robbery and malicious injury to property charges at Allendale Business Park.

The suspects are said to be two African males between the ages of 29 and 37.

On 6 October at about 12.20am, four security guards on duty at the office park noticed eight men in a silver grey Ford Fiesta. Four of the men stayed outside the business park and four entered it.

In a statement to the police, one of the guards stated, “They damaged the palisade fence to gain entry. [We called the police and when they arrived, six of the suspects ran away.]” The two that were left behind were arrested on the K101 and at corner Le Roux Avenue and Morkels Close. They were subsequently detained at the police cells.

The vehicle they were using is now in police custody.

Midrand police’s constable Nanty Belebesi said, “The two suspects will appear in court facing charges of attempted business robbery and malicious injury to property. We are looking for the remaining suspects,” she said.
