Prizes given to Heritage Day competition winners

RABIE RIDGE - Rabie Ridge Youth House 116, handed over prize money to winners of a Heritage Day dance and singing competition.

The recipients were part of a dance group from Ivory Park. Speaking on behalf of the youth house Chemi Zungu said, “We are trying all we can to keep young people occupied so that they do not turn to drugs and crime. We offer a path of arts and culture activities which they have embraced.”

He said the best the community could do was to guide young people and give them advice on living a fulfilling life. “We are proud of our winners today and the commitment they have shown in arts and culture activities.”

Manager of the Ivory Park dance group, Nonzwakazi Bukani said the group had been together for two years. “It is a joy to see young people so committed to something that adds to their personal growth,” said Bukani.

R1 000 prize money and vouchers from sponsors were given to the winners.
