A suspect has been arrested for shooting a Metro police officer

MIDRAND - A 32-year-old man was arrested in Tembisa on 22 September for the murder of a Metro police officer.

Gauteng provincial officer Lieutenant Colonel Khensani Magoai said the case had been postponed to 29 September. “The suspect will appear then at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on a charge of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm. Police are still on a manhunt for the other suspect who is still on the run,” said Magoai.

The late Metro police officer, Pieyega Moremi was shot dead with his service pistol in Ivory Park when he stopped to fix a puncture.
