The 20- year-old Rabie Ridge resident, who works as a promo girl for an events company and a pageant organiser, said she enjoyed modelling, dancing and is a debate enthusiast. “I entered Miss Heritage so that I would have a platform to be a cultural ambassador and speak to the youth of the importance of our heritage.”

She said South Africa was very unique in that it allowed all cultures to have a voice. “Our values and traditions contribute to our rainbow nation and allow people to show racial unity.”

She explained that her confidence motivated her along with the support she received from her family. “I believe in making at least one person smile each day, so many people need just to show you care.”

Sekhaolelo lives by the motto, ‘It is not about how many times you fall that matters but how you get up.’
