Police recover two stolen vehicles

IVORY PARK - Two vehicles that were reported stolen have been recovered. Ivory Park police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said the vehicles were recovered over the weekend of 13 September.

She said, “The first vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was recovered by community members in Ext 6. The vehicle had been reported as stolen in November 2013. Three suspects were arrested in connection with this case.

“The second vehicle was recovered at a scrap yard in Kaalfontein by Ivory Park police, who were patrolling the area and were notified of the vehicle’s whereabouts by a tracking company.”

Police spotted the black BMW when they entered the scrap yard and arrested three suspects. The vehicle was hijacked near the N1 on Olifantsfontein Road.

The suspects, who are involved in both cases, appeared at the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on 15 September on charges of possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles.
