Range Rover recovered and one arrested

NOORDWYK - A house on Protea Road was ransacked in Noordwyk at 12.40pm on 11 June.

Midrand police communication officer, Constable Matome Tlamela said, “The complainant alleged that she was working in the house and was with a nine-month-old child. All doors and windows were properly locked, but she heard the kitchen door being forced open. She stood up to check and she saw two unknown men enter the house.”

One suspect pointed a firearm at her and she was instructed to lie on the floor.

Tlamela said the suspects ransacked the house and stole electric equipment. The suspects then loaded the items into the employer’s car, a white Range Rover.

Tlamela said the complainant claimed that there could have been three or more suspects because she heard them talking, and believed they were speaking Sotho.

“Later that same day, one of the suspects was arrested in Saulsville for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a white Range Rover that was recovered by a tracker in Saulsville in Atteridgeville The arrested suspect will appear in court, but the other suspects are at large. Police are busy investigating the case, hoping to bring the suspects to book,” she said.
