Midrand School to be featured in an online Brazilian World Cup video
HALFWAY HOUSE - Halfway House Primary School will be featured in an online video for a Brazil World Cup soccer build-up feature.
Luciana Maltchik Garcia Capobianco Planal Digital executive director, Carlos Zalasik director of photography, Galileu Garcia Junior a producer and Andrina Moodley managing director of Stilletto Entertainment.
Stiletto Entertainment and Apex Brazil facilitated an initiative that involved a box filled with Brazilian World Cup goodies such as soccer kits and flags being flown in from Brazil to travel throughout South Africa, the previous host country of the World Cup.
Stiletto managing director Andrina Moodley said, “The parcel arrived in South Africa and journeyed across Johannesburg and we finally brought it to Halfway House Primary School, where pupils got a nice World Cup surprise.
“The project’s aim is to show the meeting of two cultures, South Africa and Brazil, and shine a spotlight on the common denominator which is love for soccer. The initiative is Brazil’s way of saying we receive the baton from South Africa and proudly host the next World Cup.”
Moodley said the school was the ideal place to shoot the video because the school had a skyline view of Johannesburg from its sports field. “We also shot skyscrapers in Braamfontein to showcase the beauty of the city,” he said.
The school’s principal Silas Pillay said, “We are so blessed to have had such an opportunity. We are humbled by new and exciting projects we have seen as a school in the last few months. Our pupils were thrilled to have the Brazilian representatives at the schools passing around World Cup paraphernalia.”
