DJ Sbu speaks to students

MIDRAND - Radio personality DJ Sbu Leope, aka DJ Sbu paid a visit to students at Varsity College in Midrand to encourage them to be proactive in life.

Through his Leadership2020 motivational movement, an initiative started by him to give speakers a platform to tell their success stories, DJ Sbu told the students that “people react to what has been done, so get things done”. “People you surround yourself with make you who you are,” he said.

Other speakers of Leadership2020 encouraged students to commit to their studies. “The only way you can follow your dreams and inspire others is to study well,” one of the speakers, Phakamele Mzimela said. “Materialistic things do not increase your value, they only indicate your hard work.”

In spite of all the good work DJ Sbu does, he found himself at the centre of controversy during this year’s elections when he tweeted a picture he took inside a voting booth. This after the Independent Electoral Commission had banned the taking of photos in voting booths.

Varsity College public relations intern, Tsholofelo Mogorosi said, “The students did not seem to care about the voting booth incident. DJ Sbu has done a lot of good work.”
