Techno-savvy contestant musters support with video

CARLSWALD NORTH - Jaco Gerrits is climbing the ranks in the Mr South Africa competition and has been selected as one of the Top 50 finalists.

He has now created a YouTube video for community members to learn more about him.

Gerrits was first featured in Midrand Reporter when he hosted a fundraiser for Joost van der Westhuizen’s charity, the J9 Foundation in March at the Barnyard Theatre, Rivonia.

He said he saw the Mr South Africa competition as a platform to inspire and motivate others. “I recognised that I have the responsibility to make a real and remarkable difference in the lives of those who need my guidance and direction most,” he said. “Using my own life journey as an example, I’d like to positively influence those around me and encourage others to also chase after their dreams.”

He said he considered himself as a man of honour, integrity, and was honest and accountable. He believes he treats others with care and respect. His interests include fitness and health, socialising with friends and family, reading, golf and computing.

Entrepreneurship and business start-ups are his specialities, and he has won the Top Information and Communication Technology Entrepreneur in Africa Award.

Gerrits is the founder and CEO of Dynamus Technologies, a company which develops technology solutions.
