  1. I saw the accident happen as I was stopped at the robot which was red for traffic travelling towards Midrand. The taxi was travelling down the left hand side of the yellow line and did not stop for the red robot. The driver swerved left when he saw the truck crossing the intersection and the taxi flipped onto its right side about 10 m from the truck and collided with the right rear of the truck’s trailer. The truck driver was in the right as the robot for him was green. This happens often on Allandale and drivers speed past the traffic on the left shoulder and skip robots. The metro is usually not to be seen in the mornings when this happens and drivers do what they want.

  2. That’s very true @Thompson, I use this road to school everyday. Whenever I’m driving to school, taxis use the emergence lane since there is always traffic in the mornings and evenings. When this accident happened I was stuck in traffic. This should me a lesson to those that want to rush to their destination when they are late. Cars are a death tray, they can either take you to your final destination or final destination of life (death). Condolences to the family of the deceased, and a speedy recovery to the injured ones. God be with you

  3. The lady who passed away in this tragic accident worked for our company for over 17 years. Vicky will be sincerely missed.
