A man who described himself as a “sunflower, a beautiful flower that is resilient to all conditions”. Rantlaone (31) believes the Mr SA platform will give him a chance to influence a greater audience, especially where he lives in Midrand. “I would use the platform to talk to young men who are labelled as “fatherless”. I believe with the right role model, any of us men can mature to be the men we are destined to be.”
He said a friend told him to enter for the Mr SA competition which started in 1982. “A very persistent friend convinced me to take part. Before that, I did not realise that the brand still existed. I learnt that the competition was not only about looks but also about being a male brand ambassador for South Africa,” explained Mr SA contestant.
“The exciting thing about my journey with Mr SA is the exposure I have had and the opportunity to look into different charities I can associate myself with.”
A documentary and movie lover, Rantlaone said he also enjoys having good chats with people. “Intellectual conversations excite me, I enjoy expanding my knowledge through conversations with other people. As a senior analyst at a company I work at, I have to keep myself abreast of what is going on around me all the time.”
“If we all have the passion to make a difference, are authentic and approachable, our communities would have better men and women,” concluded Rantlaone.
