Beaulieu gives hope

MIDRAND - Highveld Horse Care Unit is grateful to Beaulieu Equestrian Academy for its care given to an abused pony.

Fundraiser for the unit, Midrand resident Joanne Pursey explained that on 6 January, inspector Ashley Ness of the unit received a complaint that a pony, Hope had been attacked by dogs and the wounds were left untreated. The owners had gone on holiday and Hope, along with another horse whose hooves were in need of attention, were confiscated from the property in Vanderbijlpark.

“Beaulieu Equestrian Academy has very kindly fostered Hope. Two months later she is looking like a different pony and is receiving much love and attention,” she said.

The unit also hosted a talk at Beaulieu College in April and pupils donated R10 each to raise funds for the organisation.
