Five arrested for stolen vehicle

MIDRAND - Five men, aged between 21 and 29, were arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and unlicensed firearm.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said Warrant Officer Masetla from Johannesburg flying squad and his team arrested the five suspects on 20 November at 4pm on corner of the K101 and Allandale Road in Midrand.

“The vehicle is a white Toyota Hilux that was taken during a house robbery that took place in Kuruman where the owner was shot dead. The police followed the information and

successfully spotted the vehicle and managed to arrest all five suspects,” said Tlamela.

She said the arrested suspects would face charges of being in possession of a stolen vehicle and an unlicensed firearm.
