A fun day of safety tips

VORNA VALLEY - Midrand police, Midrand Community Policing Forum and Youth Desk will hold a fun day for families and the Midrand community.

The day will take place at The Vorna Valley Park, Corner of Anton Hartman and Pierneef Streets in Vorna Valley on 7 September from 9am to 3pm.

This is the first of an annual event. The emphasis is on education and fun, with a special focus on educating pre-school pupils and their families.

All community members are welcomed to the event and pre-school children from all schools.

The stakeholders of the event include the South African Police Services, Community Policing Forum, Metro police, Johannesburg Roads Agency, City of Johannesburg, Johannesburg City Parks, Waste Management, Pikitup, Takalani Sesame, Netcare, Midrand Child Welfare, Midrand Child Line, Midrand

Radio, Jammi Community Magazine and the Midrand Graduate Institute.

Entertainment will include a brass band, a rescue team performance, pony rides and hip-hop dancers. Prizes include a helicopter flip and a R5 000 education course. Food vendors will sell delicious meals throughout the day.
