Woman raped and robbed

PRESIDENT PARK - On 26 August at 6am a young woman aged between 30 and 35 was robbed and raped at the corner of K101 and Dale Road in President Park while she was on her way to work.

Police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said, “According to the complainant she was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her hands from behind her. The suspect ordered the complainant to give him her cellphone and money.”

Constable Tlamela explained, “After the complainant handed over her cellphone the suspect tripped her and she fell down. The suspect then climbed on top of her and ordered her to undress. The complainant screamed for help but the suspect threatened to stab her with a knife. The suspect raped the complainant without using a condom.”

Constable Tlamela added, “A case of rape was opened and has been transferred to Family Violence and Protection in Alexandra for further investigations. No one has been arrested yet.”
