Kwaito star Arthur’s studio equipment stolen

MIDRAND - King of Kwaito and owner of the 999 music record label Arthur Mafokate is appealing to members of the public to help locate his studio equipment that was stolen at his Midrand home on 28 August.

Makofake lost valuables worth R400 000.

The record label’s chief operating officer Brian Mokoena said, “Mafokate is pleading to recover his computer hard drive as it has a lot of information regarding 999 Music and Chomee’s new album. Mafokate is offering a reward of R20 000 to anyone who may have information with regard to the property stolen from his house.”

Three weeks ago another celebrity’s home was robbed. Burglars stole singer Lira’s 10 South African Music Awards statuettes and many valuables. Two people have since been arrested in connection with the robbery.

Police spokesperson Constable Tlamela Matome confirmed that Arthur Mofakate opened a case at the Midrand Police Station and the case is on-going. No arrests have been made yet.
