Glitz and glamour at Africa’s first action polo match

CHARTWELL – It was a day of style, fashion and polo passion on 16 November when the first-ever Standard Bank Polo in the Park event was hosted at Steyn City.

It was a day for stunning style at the first-ever game of action polo played on the African continent.

On 16 November, Steyn City played host to the very first Standard Bank Polo in the Park event – and all the beautiful people were invited, including South African celebrities Michelle Mosalakae (actress, writer and theatre producer), Ayando Thabete (an award-winning TV host) and DJ Khanya Mkangisa.

The day was jam-packed with entertainment, including vaulting acts, a live performance by jazz musician Thuli Ntuli and a fashion show before the main event – a game of action polo between the Steyn City and Standard Bank teams in the middle of the specially set up venue space.

The theme for the event was ‘polo through the ages’, which gave guests plenty of opportunities to dress up to the nines!
