Mbokodo Dynamites netball team held a community upliftment sport and fun day on 9 June at Nokuphila Primary School in President Park, Midrand.
Nokuphila is a donor-based school falling under The Love Trust which is the outreach arm of Christ Church Midrand. Christ Church Preparatory and College opens up it’s doors to Mbokodo Dynamites to practise on their netball courts every Saturday, and this sports day was a way of giving back to the college, the community and all the children living in disadvantaged communities.
Gill van den Top, the principal of Nokuphila Primary School shared her overwhelming gratitude for the food and other items that were donated by the netball team along with their friends, sponsors and affiliates.
Some of the donated items included sanitary pads, tinned foods and maize meal.
The National Metrology Institution of South Africa also visited the school on the day. The institution held a career expo before the games and encouraged the children to do their best in science and carry out research on science-related careers.
Two of the organisers of the day, Duduzile Bhembe and Rachel Mulondo thanked the various sponsors including but not limited to Nissan Midrand, the institution and the ANC Ward 112 branch.
