Riders come up trumps at world cup qualifier

KYALAMI - The Discovery World Cup Qualifier 2013 held at Revil Stables in Polekwane was one to remember for Kyalami's Gauteng Horse Society riders.

Govett Triggol and his horse Elektra impressed by winning the 1.5m Riders Grand Prix. Johan Kachelhoffer on Capital Look At Me placed second and Jonathan Clarke on Rina 77 placed third.

Last year’s South African Derby winner Nicole Horwood riding Capital Colnardo showed good form, placing fourth.
In the 1.5m World Cup Qualifier, Gauteng Horse Society’s Grant Langley riding Sissi van de Helle jumped to first place. Jeanne Engela riding Chanel van der Zeshoek placed second and Jonathan Clarke riding Rina 77 came third.

The society’s riders also came up trumps in the 1.4m, 1.35m and 1.3m championship classes.

The 1.4m Championship saw Greg Scott riding Pohlands Westpoint win, Cinzi Pasteris riding Lakea placed second and Jonathan Clarke riding Felix in third.

First place for the 1.35m Championship went to Jeanne Korber on Simonsig’s Picadilly Z, followed by Lorette Knowles Taylor on Nissan Double Vision in second place and Emma Garson on Nissan Nabab Forever in third.

Tessa van Duuren riding Romantic Axe won the 1.30m Championship followed by Bruce Dewar riding Davetsaub Elnino and Melinda Roos riding Roletza Legolas placing third.
