Mega mall coming to Waterfall City

WATERFALL CITY- Construction has started in Waterfall City for the exciting new Mall of Africa.

Atterbury Property Group is developing the mall which will be 120 000 square metres and will cost R3.5 billion.

Mall of Africa is set to be the biggest single phase mall in Africa and is scheduled to be completed by 2016.

The design for the mall was inspired by Africa’s geological beauty.

Atterbury Property Developments managing director James Ehlers said, “Mall of Africa’s sheer scale, distinctive design, exceptional location and top-notch retail mix puts it at the forefront of retail development.”

The location for the development is convenient, considering it is right next to the biggest free-flow intersection in Africa at the Allandale Road exit from the N1 highway. The mall will also be just minutes away from the Gautrain Midrand station and is in close proximity to OR Tambo International airport, Lanseria International Airport and Grand Central Airport.

The mall will house over 300 stores and will provide shoppers with a balance of both international and local brands. It will also offer speciality shopping, various services, entertainment and dining.

Retail director of Atterbury Property Developments, Cobus van Heerden said, “International retailers, of which many are not yet represented in South Africa, have been targeted and the response from them has been phenomenal. This will further differentiate this mall from current South African malls.”

The mall will contain two levels of prime shopping and will be matched by two-levels of basement parking.

Mall of Africa will also feature valet parking, a VIP lounge, spa, baby nursery and a children’s park and play area.
