Bosa accuse Education Department of ignoring Noordwyk Primary for over a decade
Build One South Africa member of legislature Ayanda Allie says the school has been a subject of empty promises by the department.
For over a decade, the Noordwyk Primary School has been using temporary structures to prepare young learners for secondary schooling.
The process of teaching and learning takes place in shipping containers and prefabricated houses.

This was revealed by the Build One South Africa (Bosa) political party who visited the school in a bid to help speed up the process of getting decent infrastructure for the schools.
The visit took place in late July headed by the party’s Gauteng Provincial Legislature member Ayanda Allie.
In a two-minute video which was shared by the School Governing Body member to the paper, Allie says they received an email regarding this issue from a concerned community member.
“For over 10 years, the primary schools have been operating from temporary structures. This institution has received many promises, even from Panyaza Lesufi who visited the school when he was still a MEC of Education. As of our inspection in mid-July, the school had not yet received any indication when there will be a permanent structure,” said Allie.

She said the school has seen an increase in new learners following the closure of other local schools by the department.
Allie said the Gauteng Department of Education continues to supply the school with make-shift structures instead of building suitable infrastructures.
The school has four ablution facilities and carries over 1 300 young learners.
The paper contacted Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona who acknowledged our media query and promised to respond.
