Fire rescue agencies and community quell a 2-hour fire in Vorna Valley.

Community members, rescue teams, and firefighters recently came together to battle a raging inferno at Bradford School in Vorna Valley.

The blaze posed a formidable challenge, taking nearly two hours of relentless effort to quell.

Faced with danger, a response team comprising dedicated individuals from various agencies including Fidelity Secure Rescue, TRSS Reaction, Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS), and Hawkey Security Solutions to name a few, bravely stood at the forefront of the rescue mission.

Nana Radebe-Kgiba, the spokesperson for the EMS said, “The City received the structural fire call at 10:24 on June 7.”

Racing against time, emergency responders swiftly mobilised, rushing to the scene to confront the menacing flames.

“On arrival, the fire was on the first floor and the thatch roof collapsed.”

Despite the perilous conditions and the intense heat, the brave firefighters and volunteers wasted no time in launching a coordinated attack to contain the blaze.

The crackling of flames and billowing smoke filled the air as they fought tirelessly to prevent further devastation.

After a gruelling ordeal that spanned hours, the combined efforts of the valiant responders finally bore fruit as the last embers of the fire were extinguished.

“The cause of the fire could not be determined because of the extent of damage. It took over two hours to fully extinguish the fire,” concluded Radebe-Kgiba.
